Hull Forward was launched on 1 April 2008 and aims to acts as a catalyst to transform Hull into a global economic player and deliver lasting change.

Below are some of the most recent, ongoing and proposed regeneration projects that are featured in the video, along with estimated levels of investment:

 

St Stephen’s (£200 million)

 

The St Stephen’s development brings a brand new shopping and leisure centre to Ferensway and includes a 24 hour Tesco superstore, a hotel and many big high street retailers.

 

Transport Interchange (£18 million)

 

The transport interchange provides a secure indoor terminal for buses, trains, coaches and taxis. It is estimated that it will welcome 24,000 people into the city every day.

 

Quay West (Due for completion 2011)

 

Quay West is going to be an extension to the successful Princes Quay shopping centre and will provide 60 new shops and two department stores, hotels, restaurants and first class leisure facilities.

 

The Boom (£110 million)

 

Situated on the east bank of the river Hull the Boom development will lead to the construction of a 128 room hotel. 600 new homes, shops, offices and a landmark footbridge over the river Hull.

 

Humber Quays

 

Hull’s new waterfront and international trade district will be home to the UK’s second World Trade Centre, a four-star hotel with conferencing facilities and high quality residential development with public plaza and riverside walkways.

 

Hull Truck Theatre (£13.8 million)

 

The purpose-built facility will have a 440-seat main auditorium, together with a 136 seat experimental space. Also included will be educational facilities, bar and café and new corporate facilities.

 

Fruit Market

 

The Fruit Market area is set to become a lively community that retains its old town charm. It is to include a mix of city living, small offices, hotel, boutique shopping and a variety of restaurants, cafés and bars.

 

Hospital Redevelopment Programme (£250 million)

 

Three main schemes will form the hub of this development based around the Castle Hill Hospital site in Cottingham:

 

1) £70 million Cancer Centre
2) £50 million Cardiac Centre & Surgical Development Facility
3) £10 million Medical Research Centre (The Daisy Centre)

 

Newington & St Andrews Regeneration Programme (£300 million)

 

At the present time 3 proposals have been put forward to improve the area over the next 15 years. These are currently under review after a public consultation which Spring Estate Agents have been actively involved in.

 

The plans include:

 

Creating up to 2700 new homes for sale & for rent.
Some clearance of the worst & most unpopular housing stock.
Improvement & repairs to existing houses & residential streets.
Creation of much more green space and outdoor facilities.
Improved transport links to, from & through the area.
